When I (Dena) was getting ready to graduate from high school, I asked my Gram if she would write down some of my favorite recipes of hers so I could take them with me to college. She made the first cookbook in 1997 and then promptly lost it. 😊 She found it a few years later and added to it but then lost it again. So when Spencer and I moved to Hawaii in 2005 I asked her if she could make me a new one so that I had something from home to take with me that reminded me of her. This is the first time she wrote down Granny Meyer’s kuchen/cinnamon bread/dinner rolls for me (you can find this in cookbook #2 which also has instructions). She first taught me how to make these at Uncle Marty’s house in Texas when I was 12. It is one of the most cherished recipes of our family and I’m so happy I have a copy to share!
